Dress Code
Slate Ridge Elementary follows the Reynoldsburg City Schools K-12 Dress Code Policy designed to create a safe, supportive, and comfortable learning environment for all. Please click below to view or download a copy of our dress code policy. This can also be found in the Student Handbook. If you have any questions regarding the dress code policy, please contact the school directly.
Arrival & Dismissal
Morning Arrival (8:20–8:30 AM)
Our student arrival time has changed. Enter from Taylor Rd., drive through the car rider loop, and drop students along the sidewalk in the designated drop-off zone. Exit through the neighborhood. Students will enter the building through the back gym entrance. Any student arriving after 8:30 AM will be marked tardy and must be signed in by a parent/guardian at the front office.
Afternoon Dismissal (2:55 PM)
Dismissal begins at 2:55 PM. Please use the same car rider loop for afternoon pick-up.
If you are picking up your student from the office during the school hours or after 2:55pm, you have to bring a State issued ID with you. No exception will be allowed. It is for our students' safety. Thank you for understanding!
Important Information to Follow
- Your child should exit the car from the passenger side, closest to the school. They should exit when you have moved up as far as possible to allow for 6-7 cars to drop at a time. Your student should be ready to exit the car when you get to that farthest spot possible.
- Please pull all the way up to the farthest point to drop off. If you are the lead car, this should be to the end of the sidewalk along the building. This allows 6-7 cars to drop off in the actual loop.
- Please do not pass any cars that are stopped in the lane. This is extremely unsafe and can put our students in danger. Please refer back to the first bullet point in this email as well in making sure your students are ready to exit the car so as not to hold up the line.
- Please be patient. We all want to provide the safest situation that we can.
- To ensure our students get to school safely, we have collaborated with the City of Reynoldsburg and the Reynoldsburg Police Department and have identified some traffic issues you may encounter during arrival and dismissal. Please note that the RPD might issue a citation if there are any violations. Parents speeding through the neighborhood (to the west of the building) to come in the back lot to drop kids off.
- Please be patient while we are training our students to get used to our arrival and dismissal procedure in the first couple of weeks. We appreciate your cooperation.
- We know that everyone wants to get their children to school safely and on time. Thank you for being a partner as we ensure a smooth drop-off and pick-up process.
Annual Notice: Parents Bill of Rights
The Ohio legislature has enacted the Parents’ Bill of Rights that affirms your fundamental right as a parent or guardian to make decisions concerning the upbringing, education, and care of your child. The District offers the following physical, mental, and behavioral health care services to your child:
- School-based behavioral health services (by referral only): Nationwide Children’s Hospital, The Buckeye Ranch, Integrated Services Behavioral Health, Southeast Healthcare, Inc. (Prevention services)

The District has also compiled a list of counseling and behavioral health resources available on reyn.org under the Department of Diverse Learners & Whole Child Supports. The link can be found here.
To facilitate parental involvement and decision-making, you have the option to withhold consent or decline any service offered by the District. If you consent, it does not waive your right to access your child’s educational or health records or to be notified about a change in your child’s services or monitoring as required by law.
Note: This notice and consent does not apply to emergency situations, first aid, other unanticipated minor health care services, or health care services provided pursuant to a student’s IEP or 504 Plan. If you have questions about these exceptions, please contact the District office.
